Making healthy, but tasty food choices really isn't that hard. People ask me if I miss eating certain foods, but in all honesty, I don't. The reason is that there aren't many foods that I can't eat. I still occasionally have pizza and other foods I used to eat. I have just adjusted the amounts and the frequency I eat them. The only things I rarely have anymore are fried foods and sodas. The fried foods were an addiction for me, so I realized when I started this journey that they were something I needed to avoid almost completely. That meant no more chicken strips (Zaxby's, Chick-fil-A, etc.), and even worse it meant no more fries (goodbye McDonalds and David's Burgers). The no sodas may be the easiest part of this change. After my kidney stone last August, I knew that I didn't want to ever go through that again. So avoiding sodas was a pretty simple decision. Now I find myself eating less as well as making better choices (like delicious buffalo chicken dip salads)! I'm enjoying these changes, and I'm losing my butter half.
My calorie intake today was perfect. I had that awesome salad for lunch and Bekah made a delicious barbecue dinner. I got a full workout in this morning with crunches and planks. Now it's time for the weekend!
